Meet the Doctor
Robert R. Winter, DDS

Dr. Robert Winter graduated in 1981 from Marquette University School of Dentistry, and in 1983 completed his Prosthodontic Specialty Residency in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at the VA Medical Center. Since 1983, he has maintained a private practice limited to Prosthodontics and a commercial laboratory specializing in highly esthetic restorations. Meet the Team

Bobbi Winter

Practice Manager

Bobbi has more than 40 years of healthcare experience in a variety of clinical inpatient, community, and executive management settings. She has served on numerous home/public health care policy and reimbursement committees and served as Chairperson of her state home health association. An entrepreneur, she has owned and operated businesses in home health, staffing, professional continuing education, and dentistry. In addition to managing Dr. Robert Winter’s dental practice, she is President/CEO of Esthetics by Design, LLC our onsite dental laboratory specializing in esthetic and complex restorations for dentists throughout the U.S. She is also on faculty at several universities teaching in Doctor of Nursing Practice, Master of Science in Nursing, and Master in Healthcare Administration programs.

Dr. Winter received her Doctor of Health Science degree from A.T. Still University. She completed a Master of Science in Nursing from Loyola University New Orleans with a concentration in nursing leadership, and both a Master of Science in Health Systems Management and an MBA from New England College. In addition, she has undergraduate degrees in healthcare administration and nursing. Dr. Winter’s research interests focus on learning and teaching approaches and preferences of healthcare professionals and faculty.

Rene Kuzma

Dental Assistant

Rene was born and raised in Southern California and has been in the dental industry for over 20 years. In addition to being Dr. Winter’s principle dental assistant, she has worked alongside some of the world’s leading dental professionals including Dr. Peter Wohrle who specializes in prosthodontics and implant surgery, as his lead surgical assistant. In addition to working in the dental operatory, Rene works as a Client Services Representative for Esthetics by Design, LLC, our onsite dental laboratory.

Fernando Guillen

Dental Assistant

Fernando Guillen attended both Rancho Santiago College and UCI and went on to vocational school earning his RDA in 1993. He has actively contributed to dental clinical research and human trials, the findings of which have been presented to esteemed dental groups including Hinman and Chicago Mid-Winter meetings. He has worked as Dr. Winter’s chairside assistant and laboratory manager for over for 20 years, where he was exposed to both world class prosthodontics and laboratory work. While Fernando’s primary role is as Director of Operations for Esthetics by Design, LLC, our onsite laboratory, he also fills in as Dr. Winter’s Dental Assistant when Rene is unavailable.

A Premier Clinician

Dr. Winter is a Past President of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry where he remains a member and is a member of the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry and the American Dental Association. He is also a member of the graduate prosthodontics faculty at the University of Washington and the University of Southern California and is on faculty at Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in Phoenix, Arizona. Having taught more than 900 didactic, clinical, and technical courses in over 45 countries, Dr. Winter is recognized around the world as a premier clinician, dental technologist, and master ceramist.

This unique blending of disciplines and talent continues to keep him in high demand as an educator and speaker.

Dr. Winter sits on the advisory boards for the Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, The International Journal of Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry, and the International Journal of Implant Dentistry. He is involved in research and product development pertaining to new dental materials, and has developed for Brasseler USA, procedural burs, systems, and kits designed to make the restorative process more efficient and predictable. In addition, he was a co-developer of d.SIGN® dental ceramic for Ivoclar-Vivadent.

In 1991, he was the second recipient of the Gordon Christensen Lecturer Recognition Award for Excellence in Restorative Education, and in 2005, Dr. Winter was named Marquette University School of Dentistry Distinguished Alumni of the Year. In 2018, Dr. Winter received the inaugural Distinguished Lecturer Award from the prestigious American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry.
